Outside is most interesting considering that this cottage is situated on 13 Island lake which will certainly be of interest to those folks who love the southeastern part of Ontario and all it has to offer. The lake is approximately 488 acres in size. Swimming at the cottage is good and safe for young children with a small beach, sandy bottom as you walk off the shore into the water. There is also a small dock if you are planning on bringing your own boat. There is a propane barbecue on the deck of the main cottage as well as very good tables and chairs for outdoor dining on the side deck as well as the deck at the back of the cottage on the lake side. This cottage rental includes several watercraft including a row boat, canoe, paddle boat and 2 kayaks for your on water enjoyment. Don't forget your fishing gear as 13 Island Lake has a number of interesting fish species including small mouth bass, northern pike, pumpkinseed, walleye, black crappie, rock bass, northern pike amongst others.

Supplies are available in Verona Village where there are larger food stores, restaurants and service stations which is a mere 15-20 minutes from the cottage. In addition there are tennis courts within 15 minutes of the cottage and there is an 18 hole golf course just 20 minutes away and a 9 and 18 hole golf course with driving range just 30 minutes away in Westport. The city of Kingston within an hour has lots of sight-seeing events and historical buildings to explore. Some of the more popular are Old Fort Henry, Haunted Walks, Kingston Penitentiary Tours and many cruise packages for the 1000 islands near Gananoque. There are several live theatres in Kingston and Gananoque. And in the Village of Westport there are country crafts and shops for all ages. 13 Island Lake is a quiet and peaceful lake where Loons feel protected and come back to raise their young ones year after year. Nature is healthy and abundant with deer, Turkeys, Rabbits, Ducks, Turtles, Frogs and much more to see and hear on land or by water. There is also a private boat launch if you wish to bring your own watercraft to explore the shining waters.
