The cottage is nestled on top of a hill overlooking Kushog Lake, surrounded by old growth pine and hemlock trees. The outside is as exciting as the interior and includes a beautiful finished deck that feels like a tree house and allows you to view the forest and lake from high above. The child safe deck also includes an umbrella, six chairs and a propane Napoleon BBQ. There is a well-constructed staircase to the shoreline. For those evening marshmallow and weenie roasts, there is a fire pit, chairs and a picnic table that provides you a spectacular view of the Highland sunsets accompanied by a crackling fire! The large main dock and floating dock has sun all day beginning at noon for fun in the sun! There is also a shallow nook with rock bottom that allows you a short walk out to the deep drop off. Don't forget your fishing gear as there are Bass and Pike roaming around! In addition, there is a canoe and a sit-in kayak provided to explore the bay, the two islands and 13km of breathtaking vistas with rough Precambrian rock scored by powerful glaciers of the ancient past. "Kushog Lake" has its origins in the Ojibway language which means - that which does not run straight, with lots of narrows where you can see beyond.
This cottage is conveniently located about 5 minutes away from Canarvon where you can buy emergency supplies or visit the Boshkung Brewery at the Rhubarb Restaurant. Both Haliburton and Minden are 20 minutes away with their grocery stores, quaint shops, service stations, banking, pharmacies, restaurants, live entertainment, healthcare and veterinary services.
