As stated previously, this cottage is on a large bass pond which is over 2 square acres
in size. Being a private smaller body of water, it is understandably more shallow than a normal lake and the swimming is much better in a regular size lake but if swimming is important to you and your group, there is a public beach on Drag Lake which is a 2
minute walk from the cottage. Bass fishing on the other hand is outstanding. As you
exit the cottage there is a comfortable furnished deck with table, chairs, and a propane barbecue for the 'Chef-de-Golden-Pond'.
There is a dock at the shore with a canoe and rowboat for your on the water pleasure
as well as a fire pit for those evening marshmallow roasts. This cottage is within 15
minutes of Haliburton Village where there are supplies, shops, entertainment and
excellent restaurants. This agency and the owners of this cottage encourage catch
and release to ensure good fishing for future generations.

Just wanted to pass along a personal note that we enjoyed this cottage more than we ever have. Congratulations to the owners for a superb facility -  clean, modern, and beautiful. We never really know what we are getting and kind of like booking a new cottage each time we visit Haliburton but we might just return to this one. It was the perfect distance to Haliburton. I could easily finish school and return to get my spouse and dog to return to the town for groceries or a visit to some of the sites. The private lake was super quiet and secluded. It was exactly the right place for a week away from our regular life and schedule.
