Hi Darlene We have just returned from a fantastic Family Day weekend at Crystal Lake . The cottage was in a great position right on the lake and was the best equipped holiday house I have ever rented. There was something for everyone - kids toys, great cooking utensils, DVDs, games, lots of comfy and warm bedding, and even snow and a frozen lake to skate on! We had the pleasure of meeting the owner Adrian when we first arrived and he ensured we were comfortable with the house, how to work the fireplace and even told us of a locals gathering that would be on over the weekend that we would be welcome to attend! He pulled out some sleds for the kids which were well used over the weekend. Unfortunately I forgot to write in the guest book at the house, could you please forward this email to him? A The staff I spoke to really knew the finer details of each cottage I was considering, and if they didn't know, they found out, and got back to me in a very timely manner. This is not only an important consideration, but a very appreciated one as well.
(Weather aside) Was the cottage good value for money?
A The cottage had exactly what we needed to relax in comfort!
How would you rate our web site versus others in the cottage rental business?

A YES, and I had to smile. One of the representatives whom I spoke to, warned me that I might find the cottage a bit rustic. I certainly appreciated the fact that she valued presenting the property accurately, and not overstating its amenities! And to be sure, "rustic" is a relative term! The cottage was clean and fresh smelling, all the appliances worked as they should, the beds were very comfortable and clean, the washroom was spotless and had lots of shelf space to 'park' our sundry items, and even in that incredible heat, the fans kept us comfortable. We loved the deck which overlooks the lake. Fishing was great! We had a ball in touring the lake in the boats! We were delighted with the cottage and given it's truly rustic charm, we would definitely be encouraged to consider it for another vacation.
Spruce I sincerely appreciate the efforts of WRD and in particular Fran and Darlene for helping us to rent this cottage. Despite delays in getting contract details finalized until late spring, Fran persisted. Not only did we end up renting the cottage of our choice, but she had helped with a ‘back up plan’ if things didn’t work out. The cottage itself was wonderful and worth the wait for a final contract. It had absolutely everything to make our family vacation comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable for everyone. The kids were constantly entertained by the trampoline, beach and boating opportunities. Adults loved the docks, beaches, comfy deck chairs, kayaking, and the trampoline too! The location was wonderful – very private and a great spot on the lake. The hot tub was a great touch and we enjoyed all the little touches that make this cottage so special. Campfires were a special time to enjoy each evening around an amazing pit. There was lots of room and amenities were perfect for our group of two families. Even the dog loved his stay. The beach, swimming, playing with the kids, paddleboat and kayak rides and watching ducks go by were wonderful ways for him to spend the day – and entertain everyone in the process. I managed to take over 1200 photos over the week and could’ve taken more. We will definitely recommend WRD and this cottage to friends and hope to stay again in the future. The neighbouring cottages were closer than we thought they would be but the neighbours were very friendly and helpful. I called the cottage owner a couple of times (trouble with the paddeboat and satellite) and he helped us out right away. Thanks for all your help!

We had an absolutely wonderful time in such a perfect setting that we just couldn't have asked for more. Although the weather was fantastic and the swimming was superb, it was your service and co-ordination with the cottage owners that made our holiday just so perfect. This was our first time 'renting' as well as our first vacation with our new baby. The cottage was just what you advised us it would be (sandy beach, shallow water, screened-in porch) and your assistance in helping us decide on a cottage was great. Hi Fran, Just wanted to send you a testimonial about our recent rental of Little Redstone Lake 8. We had a great vacation (Aug 13-20th)! The cottage was actually better than advertised! It had everything a renter would need and really felt like a home away from home. Kudos to the owners for supplying all kinds of movies, reading materials, board games, and Lego (came in handy on the one day that it rained). We just wished we booked it for two weeks instead of one but there's always next summer for that. The kids spent hour upon hour swimming in the lake and playing on the huge sandy beach. We also explored the lake via canoe just about everyday too. We also saw lots of the local wildlife (deer, flying squirrels, various birds)...I think the cottage comes with it's own resident chipmunk...the little fella always seemed to show up on the deck at dinner time

Hi there! Well, we just returned from Little Kennisis 7 yesterday, and we had a fabulous week. Coming home to Toronto is such a deflating experience after being in Haliburton, and I’m quickly coming to the realization that one week simply isn’t enough! Although the temperatures were a wee bit cool for swimming, the clear, dry days made for terrific day trips and enjoyment of the impressive decks at the cottage. This was our fourth consecutive summer renting through your agency, and we agreed that this cottage’s owners really know how to prepare a property for renters! Id’ like to let cottage owners and prospective clients of WRD know how much I enjoyed working with WRD Cottage rental. I was a reluctant ‘landlord’ in that I worried about wear and tear on my cottage which had been recently renovated. I was also an out of province landlord (we had recently moved to BC) so needed to work long distance with whomever was going to rent my cottage.
WRD was exemplary on many fronts: Bill clearly explained their contractual process and business model and spent time with me on the phone answering questions. All transactions went exactly as they said they would with no hidden fees or costs. Their marketing was great. WRD screened prospective renters very carefully, and turned down some people because they did not meet the criteria I had asked for. The renters that did rent my property were considerate, clean and left my cottage as they found it. It was a great process. I received my rental payments quickly.
I have now sold my cottage so will not be working with WRD, however I have mentioned their name to my friends and believe they are the premier cottage rental group in the province. I looked at a few before I decided to work with WRD. I am 100% satisfied with their service on all dimensions.
Kennisis Lake 34 As first time cottage owners, our experience with WRD Cottage Rental was excellent. Our goal was to have the cottage rented through the peak summer months and WRD did this successfully. The renters were respectful of the property. There was not a single issue that arose all summer. As we were away part of the summer, WRD did the changeover cottage inspection for the weekends we were not available. It turned out to be a worry free, rewarding experience. Thanks for your professionalism. Hi Bill, Dear Bill, Just wanted to drop you a note re our two week holiday at The Homestead. It was truly wonderful as you said. The house itself was well back from the road and screened by trees. Inside, it was a delight and plenty roomy for the two of us. Basically everything we needed was on the first floor (also cooler during our 2 week heat wave). Outside, the property was huge. We never saw our neighbours and rarely heard them. I was at first a little wary of swimming in a pond but once I got in it felt more like our private little lake. We had deer come to feed in the meadow behind the house, plenty of hummingbirds, and of course an army of chipmunks. (We also had 2 night visitors—2 bats that came out of the bedroom rafters. Rob caught them and let them go outside but all in all I prefer the deer.) We experienced no negatives about the place and, if it comes up for rental next summer, we would certainly love to return.
