Outside is most interesting considering that this cottage is situated in such a way that the result is one of the great views of the Haliburton Highlands. When you look out from shore you can understand why the Haliburton Highlands is called "Nature's Natural Work Of Art". In addition, this cottage is only 15 minutes from Haliburton Village which makes it most appropriate for mature students attending the Haliburton School of Art. Some of the pictures below were taken both in summer and during the fall. For swimmers the swimming is fine with a rocky shoreline and a sandy bottom. The dock is equipped with a ladder for ease of entrance and exit from the water.
The deck is nicely furnished with 6 loungers and a propane barbecue. The dock area is where you will find your paddle board, canoe and kayak.
Minnicock Lake’s restrictive covenant has provided the ideal environment for
wildlife, including loons, ravens, Great Blue Herons, owls, deer and small mouth
bass. The lots are large and lawns are prohibited, so that most cottages are not visible from the water. There are a few motorboats limited to 6hp, with most
cottagers using canoes, kayaks and paddle boards. Temperate water
temperatures and the lack of motorboats ensure good swimming conditions. Part
of the lakes shoreline is bounded by crown land making Minnicock ideal for those
who want a quiet, natural experience. Our screened porch, deck and dock offer
comfortable spots to enjoy nature. The wood fireplace and fire pit will enhance
your Minnicock evenings.
Minnicock Lake is 4 km long.
Supplies are readily available about 15 minutes away in Haliburton Village where there are large food stores, quaint shops, restaurants, health care, pharmacies, hospital, service stations, golf, and special events are always going on during the summer. And there is even a vet for fido if the need arises. So if you are planning on joining us next summer, give WRD a call at
705-457-9434 and discuss your needs with one of our Vacation Planners who will be happy to answer any questions you may have about this fine vacation destination.
